Women's Federations, College Students Care for Rural Children in Anhui
March 15, 2024Initiated by the China Children and Teenagers Fund (CCTF) and supported by B'in Music (Beijing) Co., Ltd., the "Guarding Childhood: Growing up Together" 2024 Winter Vacation Children's Care Service activity has been carried out across the country during this year's winter vacation.
In Bengbu, Anqing and Huaibei of East China's Anhui Province, the local women's federations have joined the efforts to bring care and warmth to children whose parents work away from home and children who live in difficulties.

In Guanqiao Village of Wenchang Sub-district in Tongcheng, a county-level city in Anqing, a group of college students and women volunteers sent gifts to local children, and extended festive greetings and best wishes to them.
They also organized children to visit elderly people who live alone, make dumplings for them, and help them clean their houses.

With the support of volunteers, children completed their drawings of Loong (traditional Chinese dragon) during a painting activity held in Dongguan community of Longmian Sub-district to welcome the arrival of the year of the Loong.
Other places in Tongcheng organized children to watch films about safety education, read classical books, and share with each other about their family traditions.

During a ceremony held by Huaibei Women's Federation, college students said they would take care of the needs of disadvantaged children and bring love and warmth to them through their practical actions.

Six college students joined over 30 children in a reading activity at a bookstore in Huaibei's Xiangshan District. They read illustration stories for children, talked with them about the importance of reading, and encouraged them to develop good reading habits, study hard and grow up healthy.

During an activity, Bengbu Women's Federation distributed schoolbags and stationery materials to children. Students from Bengbu Medical University and Bengbu University paired up with children in drawing pictures, writing New Year wishes and couplets.

Meanwhile, four students from Bengbu Medical University visited 20 rural children in Xuying Village of Lu'an, a city in Anhui, and organized various activities for them to enjoy a happy winter vacation.
